Laminated Pouches

Multilayer printed pouches that keep products fresh and look premium on the shelf.

Overview

What are Laminated Pouches?

A laminated pouch is made from two or more films bonded together. Each layer does a job: the outer film carries the print, the middle layer adds barrier, and the inner layer gives a strong, clean seal. Together they protect your product from moisture, air, light and handling.

We print the outer film in-house on rotogravure presses, laminate it, cure it and convert it into finished pouches, so print, bond and seal are controlled by one team from start to finish.

Rotogravure Printing
Step 01

Rotogravure Printing

Your artwork is engraved on cylinders and printed in multiple colours on high-speed rotogravure presses. The result is sharp images, rich colour and the same registration from the first metre to the last.

Lamination
Step 02

Lamination

The printed film is bonded with one or more layers such as PE, metallised PET or foil. Lamination adds strength, sealability and barrier against moisture, oxygen and light.

Curing
Step 03

Curing

Laminated rolls rest in a controlled curing area until the adhesive reaches full bond strength. This step is what keeps layers from separating later on your packing line.

Slitting & Rewinding
Step 04

Slitting & Rewinding

Cured jumbo rolls are slit to the exact width and rewound on the core size your machine needs, ready for automatic form-fill-seal lines.

Pouch & Bag Making
Step 05

Pouch & Bag Making

Rolls are converted into pouches and bags with side seal, bottom seal, centre seal, zipper, handle or gusset as required, then checked, packed and dispatched.

FAQ

Common questions

Which laminate structure should I choose?

It depends on your product. Dry snacks often use BOPP/PE or PET/PE, while tea, coffee or products that need more shelf life use metallised or foil structures. Tell us your product and shelf life and we will recommend the structure.

Can you make pouches with a zipper and a window?

Yes. Zipper, window, tear notch, hang hole, rounded corners and matte or gloss finish can be added as per your design.

Do you supply rolls for automatic machines?

Yes. The same printed laminate can be supplied as finished pouches or as rollstock slit to your machine width.
